There's going to be a new basketball competition called the NBA In-Season Tournament starting in the 2023-24 season. Here's what you need to know:
The tournament will start on November 3 and end on December 9. The Semifinals and Championship games will be held in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.
There are two stages in the tournament: Group Play and Knockout Rounds.
In Group Play, all 30 teams are divided into groups of five based on their performance from the previous season.
Each team will play four games against the other teams in its group.
These games will happen on special "Tournament Nights" and count towards the regular-season standings.

The top team from each group and two wildcard teams (the best-performing second-place teams) will move on to the Knockout Rounds.
The Knockout Rounds are single-elimination games. The teams that win these games will advance to the Semifinals and then the Championship.
All the games in Group Play and the Knockout Rounds, except for the Championship game, will count towards the regular-season standings. Each team will still play 82 regular-season games.
Some of the Group Play games and all the Knockout Round games will be shown on national television.
At the end of the tournament, there will be prizes for the players on the teams that reach the Knockout Rounds.
There will also be awards for the Most Valuable Player of the tournament and the All-Tournament Team, based on the players' performance in both Group Play and the Knockout Rounds.
